5. Chase Williams – Eastside (Sophomore)
Chase Williams has made a name for himself this season at Eastside, proving he has the clutch gene in his veins. Whether it’s sinking game-winning shots with little to no time left or coming up with a crucial steal when his team is down by one, Williams delivers when it matters most. Expect to hear his name a lot over the next two years.
4. Layne Jessee – Lebanon (Freshman)
Layne Jessee is the kind of freshman every school dreams of having. From dominating on the football field to locking down opponents on the basketball court, he’s already turning heads. The freshman forward has become a staple in local sports coverage, and for good reason. With natural talent and strong upperclassmen mentors around him, the sky is the limit for Jessee.
3. Channing Disibio – Graham (Sophomore)
If we had made this list last year, Channing Disibio would have been on it. Coach Baker speaks highly of him—and for good reason. Once known primarily as a spot-up shooter, Disibio has developed into a player who can take over a game. Sharing the backcourt with the dynamic Markelle Ray has only helped him improve. With one of the smoothest shooting strokes in the area and two more years to refine his game, Graham basketball is in great hands.
2. Landon Lee – Virginia High (Sophomore)
Landon Lee made a splash as a freshman, averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds per game. Now, he’s catching the attention of Division I scouts. Virginia High is a powerhouse program aiming for its second straight state title appearance, and the 6’8” sophomore will play a key role in making that happen. By the time he’s a senior, Lee could be one of the best players this region has seen in recent memory—and that’s saying a lot.
1. Ean Hayes – Central Wise (Freshman)
Ean Hayes has been nothing short of spectacular this season. The Bristol Herald called him an elite offensive player, and they couldn’t be more right. Despite being just a freshman, he plays with the poise and confidence of a senior. His ball-handling, finishing ability, and relentless defensive mindset make him a nightmare for opponents. If you haven’t watched him play yet, you’re missing out—because Hayes is only getting started.
