Week 2 had no shortage of drama. It felt like the final drive was the deciding factor in every game. The Titans’ Kicker delivers the win over the Chargers in OT, the Falcons beat Green Bay on a Younghoe Koo field goal with under a minute, and Washington held on at the end to beat the Broncos even with a magical Hail Mary pass from DangerRuss. The Patriots threw away their chance to win on 4th down on Sunday Night Football, and The Steelers defense scored two TDs to put the Browns down.
Moving on to week 3 starting with Thursday Night Football, the NY Football Giants vs the San Francisco 49ers. Are the 49ers the best team in the NFL? I think they are. Averaging 30ppg and only allowing 15ppg over the first two weeks. They have the best RB in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey, one of the best Offensive Lines, a top 3 TE, and a WR duo in Deebo and Aiyuk. Not to mention a top 2 defense lead by Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, and Javon Hargrave. Giant bounced back after that 40-0 lose to divisional rivals, The Dallas Cowboys, to only beat the really bad Cardinals by three. And even with that win, they lost star RB Saqoun Barkley for a couple weeks with an ankle injury. So, let's talk about some fantasy football. Start’em or sit’em:
Start:
RB Christian McCaffrey - Obviously you want to start McCaffrey. Through the first two games of the year the Giants have allowed an average of 20.5 points in PPR leagues on 18.5 carries for 88yrds and 1.5TDS.
49ers Defense – The Dallas Cowboys held the Giants offense to 0 points, under 200yrds of total offense. They had 3 forced fumbles, 7 sacks, 2TDs, and 2INTs. If San Fran can replicate half of that it’s a must start week for them.
WR Isaiah Hodgins – The 49ers have done a great job shutting down a team's first and second passing options this season. Holding Diontae Johnson, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth all to under 50 receiving yards. But Allen Robinson caught 5 passes for 64 yards. The following week the same thing happened, Higbee, and Van Jefferson were held to under 20 yards, but Puka Nacua, and Tutu Atwell combined for 22 catches and 224 yards.
Sit:
Giant’s Defense – They Suck. allowing 322ypg through two weeks, and 28 points a game. They’ve averaged 1.5 fantasy points.
TE George Kittle – The Giant’s defense has sucked in every aspect except not giving TE’s a lot of room to work with. Over two weeks the Giants have held TEs to an average of 4 catches and 33 yards, with 7.35 fantasy points allowed in PPR leagues.
TE Darren Waller – the 49ers Defense have given up 4 catches for 15 yards combines to Pat Freiermuth and Tyler Higbee. The only positive was Freiermuth’s 3 are TD catches. The 49ers are only allowing 5.75 fantasy points to opposing TEs. Stay away.
My prediction for tonight's game is 35 to 6. Brock Purdy, CMC, Deebo, Aiyuk, & Kittle won’t be slowed down by a very stinky Giants defense. Expect big receiving games for Aiyuk and Kittle in the 1st half and then it’s the CMC show to run out the clock in the 4th quarter, rushing for over 100+ yards for the third straight time. My betting Locks for this TNF are below:
LOCKS:
San Francisco –10.5/ML
George Kittle Anytime TD Scorer +190
Isaiah Hodgins over 30.5 receiving yards –110
Isaiah Hodgins over 2.5 receptions -139
I like to Same Game Parlay my picks, if you did that it would be a 4 parlay with +936 odds.
Bonus Pick – San Francisco to record 5+ sacks vs Giants +290.
