After a blazing 6-0 start to the 2025 season, the Logan High School Wildcats are regrouping following two consecutive losses that have tested their resilience and resolve. With just two games remaining, the team is focused on closing out the regular season with renewed energy and determination.

🏈 A Season of Highs and Recent Lows

The Wildcats stormed through the first half of the season, notching dominant wins over Man (28-6), River View (46-0), Tug Valley (27-12), Wayne (32-6), Clay County (14-6), and Scott (35-0). Their defense was relentless, and the offense clicked with precision, building momentum and confidence on the backs of sizzlin’ sophomores Luvante Kenney and Lucas Lambert.

However, the tide turned in mid-October. Logan suffered a tough road loss to Mingo Central, falling 48-27 in a high-scoring battle on Miner Mountain. The following week, they were stunned at home by Chapmanville Regional, who handed them a 42-7. These setbacks dropped Logan to 6-2 overall, raising questions about potential playoff seeding.

🔥 Eyes on Redemption

Despite the recent losses, Logan remains optimistic. On Halloween night the Wildcats travel to Saint Albans (0-8), a team still searching for its first win. This game presents a prime opportunity for the Wildcats to regain their footing and reestablish their dominance.

Following that, Logan will travel to face West Side (4-3), a more formidable opponent. A win there would not only boost morale but also solidify their postseason positioning as they wrap up the regular season.

🏆 Playoff Implications

With a 6-2 record and a solid early-season resume, Logan is still in contention for a playoff berth. Wins in their final two games could secure a favorable seed and restore the confidence that defined their early success. To date, the Wildcats are currently ranked 9th in the state in AA with new rankings set to come out later today.

Logan has shown it can dominate. Now, it’s time to prove it can overcome adversity. With two games left, the Wildcats have everything to play for—and the grit to make it count.
